Tn

I am from South-Africa and was recent diagnosed with TN and I want to know: has any one else got this irritating, buzzing, pulsing sound in their head. I feel like going crayzy over this annoying sound!!?

Sounds like tinnitus to me, ask your Dr about it. Empathy, I know its a b&%$%£!

I didn't - hope somebody answers soon. If not, check with your dr. - maybe ear infection or something!

Greetings kitty,

I too have a buzzing and ringing mainly in my right ear which is on the other side of my tn. I do not have the pulsing but it sometimes gets alot louder and when it does I get hearing loss that can last for days. I also get so dizzy that I cannot even stand and have to lay down and that last for about 4 hours. I do not know if this is related to tn or not, the ENT doctor is checking for meniere's disease. I have always had a slight buzzing as long as I can remember. The buzzing has gotten worse since the onset of tn though. You might want to have an ear doctor check it out.

Scott.

Hello Kitty, Scott,

I also have this; I have TN, but I also have a loud (mainly very loud!) buzzing sound, that's pulsating on my bloodstream, that never stops. Doc's (ENT's) can't find anything, exept that it's tinnitus. It's on the same side of my TN.

And Scott, I also have these vertigo attacks, with vomiting and all, also lasting about more than three hours. They thought off Menieres, but now the prof thinks it's VAM (Vertigo Associated Migraine) wich symptoms are very much alike Menieres. I also, like you, have the buzzing for years and years but got worse when the vertigo-attacks and the TN began! The pulsating was new to me till then.

For me it's not a coincidence that I got TN and the vertigo-attacks started off at the same time.....

Hi Ellis and Scott, thanks for your reply. The doc said there is no ear infection, so it must be that tinnitus. My doc didn't give me much info on TN he said I must go and read about it on internet. Great doc hey? Didnot go back to him, waiting for a specialist to come back to me. It's on "african time", you wait and wait and worry and wait. And I also have this ugly dizzy spells. My husband thinks it's because I'm skipping meals. The annoying buzzing only started with the TN diagnoses. I also have nasty heart pains, sometimes I feel like screaming of pain so bad it gets. The doc said something about the TN makes my heart swell from holding back to much water and thats causing the pain. Only drinking asprin for this. While waiting for the docs, I don't have any medicines to drink and feel terrible!!

Hi Ktty,

"The doc said something about the TN makes my heart swell from holding back to much water and thats causing the pain."

That's very new to me! Never heard of that. Would be interesting though.

I did read something of a link between holding back water and dizzy spells as in Menieres. Some people find some relief in cutting back salt intake. I've tried it, didn't work for me. Also Betaserc didn't do the job. They're now trying Betablockers to lower bloodpressure (not that I've had high bloodpressure), this gives some Migraine patients some relief (it might be a form of Migraine as I've said before). We'll see.

Take care!

Ellis.

It's Pulsatile Tinnitus. It may suddenly come, and then suddenly leave you years later.

PT is a very obnoxious distraction; but it will just go away...I now have Type 1 TN on the left side of my face.

Blessings,

Rick

Yes, Pulsatile Tinnitus, that's how it's called.

Good to know that it can go away,

Thanks Rick!
