Of course MRI’s make me nervous, even after having 9 of them! I’m hoping for some kind of answer this time, my last brain/head MRI was in 2006 & it didn’t show anything (don’t think they looked closely @ the trigeminal nerve) I was misdiagnosed for many years before finally being diagnosed with ATN by my neurologist in early 2010. My new neurologist of little over 1yr wanted to take a look again since my symptoms have become worse over the past year. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you too eadt. I hope you get the answers you are hoping for. I just had an MRI done on Monday and I can't decide if I want a clean MRI or for there to be a compression. I think I would rather have nothing show up on my MRI because I don't like the idea of surgery... and then I can still be in denial over the whole TN thing. On the other hand a compression would give me an answer.

Yes! The threat of TN has us wishing for some strange MRI results. My MS has been in remission for the past 5 years and I recently had a MRI because my Neurologist was thinking my pain was MS related. I didn't know how I wanted the MRI to come out. It looks like it is plain old TN not complicated by MS. Happy? Sad? I guess the results are just the results. Sharing your uncertainty!! :) Tina
Thanks for thr response! Yes, I feel the same way…compression would mean surgery and nothing would still leave me frustrated. Oh well, at least I can rule out some things, hopefully clear though. I don’t want another surgery if I can help it.

Hahahaha, that was my thought too! At least we get some fun as TN sufferers. Too bad my Neuro thinks a regular MRI is good enough, bcs the FIESTA does sounds really cool (aside from the super useful part)

My MRI normal every thong just normal ! That what makes my doctor have a doubt ! I will do another MRI 4th on december , I hope it will give answers !
