Cold weather and increased pain

Hi everyone,

I hope your days are going well.

I am having difficulty in the cold. And as it is getting colder, I am in more pain.

I refuse to stay indoors and not do what I enjoy most- walks and runs outside, but it is certainly getting more complicated.

I am fine while I am outside, but I have increased pain when I come indoors.

And on the days I am indoors all day working, the pain can be relentless.

Let me know what your experience is.

Thanks.

The cold seems to make mine worse too.

Ugg - cold wind, cold days, weather changes - they all make my pain worse. Once the pain gets triggered it can be so much worse for a few days. Maybe we all need to move to a bubble somewhere where the air and temperature are all controlled 24/7. :)

Well, you are not alone! Recently there was a stretch of sunny Autumn weather in my area with temperatures around 45 degrees - the only problem was that the wind was coming from the north and the TN just fired up with I went outside, even with a scarf around my face. I haven't been able to take my little dog for a walk for weeks and feel like a prisoner in my own house. I have even checked into getting a handicap placard for my car so I won't have to walk from one end of a shopping lot to a store during the cold months - I'm embarrassed to use it, but what else can I do?

I have also found that sitting in a hockey rink watching my grandson play make the TN ache more. Just the cold element aggravates the TN.

Today I got a second procedure of the glycerol injection - from another doctor and right now, it's far too early to tell how successful it was, but I can say that my left cheek is numb and I'm truly hoping this goes away! The left side of my face feels like I just came from the dentist who injected my jaw with Novocain. Let's hope that goes away soon

Without having a real pity party for myself, I guess I'll close, because this condition has caused nothing by suffering and desperation in my life.

I was just diagnosed, but the cold definitely seems to make it flare up. I'd love to stay home under my electric blanket all day, every day!

Me too. cold weather causes the pain to increase.

Also, when the cold weather comes, i get the sniffles...and *shakes head* THAT is killing me right now. Each cough feels like my face/mouth is being dipped in acid. So yeah, cold weather sucks.

Each fall i begin dreading the next couple months...i know i'm in for increased pain.

Me too. Cold weather is the worst trigger after extrem weather changes. I wear a head buff when I go outside now. It will get much much colder here in Berlin - I'm in for a few tough months.

My nose is also killing me when I get a cold. The pain gets worse from blowing my nose or even when its just blocked.

I just bought two head buffs and I am SO HAPPY to have them!!! I also have a headband for over my ears. I look like i"m ready to rob a bank but it's so helpful!
