Chiropractic treatment

Has any one tried Chiropratic treatment for there TN? If so did it work well? I am thinking about trying it but because it is expensive because it is not covered under the insurance plan I have I would like to know if anyone else has tried it.

I would only try - and others in the know would only suggest

somebody NUCCA certified to do this --- and no other type of chiro

you can google and there is a listing by state

Also, if you can - RUN out and get the book "Striking Back" by Ken Casey if you don't already have it--for all types of treatment options

you can also search in the face pain tab or the search box

I did go to my chiro (not NUUCA certified) and got an adjustment last week. It didn't eliminate my symptoms but I felt it helped. My atlas tends to rotate in my neck so I need periodic adjustments to realign it. I plan to see him again this week. It's a piece of my health care that has helped a variety of troubles over the years but may not give you enough to justify the expense.

I get chiro on a regular basis and it does make a difference for me. I can definitely tell when I've missed a few weeks.

Hi. After an unsuccessful GK surgery, I have turned to a chiropractor. She is lightly manipulating my jaw and neck. After the treatment, I feel great. But, it does wear off. My pain management doc says that if I don't get better relief soon, that it is a waste of money. It doesn't hurt to try. This treatment for me, is the only thing that helps - temporarily.

well that's something then. Sounds like your pain management doc isn't being successful. Maybe you need to tell him he's a waste of money ;)

Yeah, I fired that pain doc. He says, at this point, my only option is surgery and he won't perform that since I got the best treatment (GK) for my condition. I am giving up on trying to fix this and maintaining a somewhat pain-free existence with neurontin, chiropractor and massage.

Massage on your face? Or stress massage in general?

Trigger point. Neck deep tissue, jaw massage is light since I've had it done more aggressively and it seems to flare up when it's done deep on my jaw. Temples feel really good to massage. She also massages the inside of my mouth towards the cheek bone which is wonderful but painful while she's doing it.
