I'm thinking of going to a chiropractor to check out Upper Cervical. Anyone know if this helps at all?
Do you have the book Striking Back????
You should google NUCCA to see if somebody is certified in your area
they can work on your atlas -- they are THE only ones my premier surgeon who wrote the book - says that should do this to you....but many go with uncertified with varied results.
Really research this - chiopractors can sometimes do more harm than good -- or rope you into way more than you need

I have had some relief with this but after a family member suffered a stroke following an upper cervical adjustment I got scared and haven't gone back. She lives in another state and obviously went to a different chiropractor than I but it was still disturbing. Of course there is no proof that the procedure and her stroke were related, so it could've been a coincidence. It was helpful enough that I have considered getting it done again despite my fears.
I actually found someone certified not too far from here. I've been too nervous to make an appt. For reasons like GinRebekah mentioned above. But I have emailed this person twice and have received good replies. I have an appt. this next week with my osteopath so I'll see what she has to say about having it done by a chiropractor or if she has any better ideas.
Thanks so much for your help. I have not seen the book Striking Back. I'll look for it! Thank you

Thank you for your reply. It is a big reason we need to be so careful and not taken for a 'ride' just because we are hurting so bad - not to accept just any advice. I'm not sure if there was any connection between your family member and the adjustment, but finding a certified person would be the first start. I have found on but have been too scared to start down that road. I have so many appt's coming up because I'm about to start on dialysis, so I don't want too much happening at once. I hope you are doing okay. Lori

Its very hard to find NUCCA certified for the atlas work -- I would have to go from KC to Tulsa I think -- I've had a screwed up neck for decades -- someday I might do it for NON TN reasons!
I would consider using a NO FORCE chiropractor. I am not sure of the exact term but they do not click or crack your back. My doctor is Dr. Harrison Prator in Orlando Florida. He cured my TN. You might want to look into it.
