Hi All,
I'm in Northern, CA and we had two hot days and I was feeling pretty good, then we cooled down 20 degrees and now I have had high pain for the last 2 days. Has anyone experienced this? I also have allot more pain when I sit too long. I'm wondering if my back pain and my TN are related. Has anyone else had this happened?
Hi Ms. Minnie,
Unfortunately I have to say "Yes". My face is so sensitive that even if it is boiling hot outside and I go inside to watch a movie in an air-conditioned theater, when I go back outside my face is painful and I have pain for two days. Winter is torture and a sudden temperature drop causes havoc with my face.
Why this is, I have had no medical explanation from either my neuro or my GP, it seems it is the nature of the disease and the sensitivity of the nerves and the arteries.
When there is cold weather or cold/windy I automatically tense up because I know what is going to follow.
Hang in there.
Courage,
CH.
Passing weather fronts at times cause me great pain. Colder temps in general don't help things either. One of things I've discovered about this disease it that it manifests differently in each individual. Thus far no med that I could tolerate for more than a week has provided any help. So for me finding my triggers and avoiding them or being prepared for the pain they cause when they are unavoidable is a key to my survival.
