can anyone tell me their opinions on which is better and what is gamma knive surgery like
It really depends on the specifics if your case. It’s not that one is better than the other. They are very different. Gamma knife is destructive to the nerve where as mvd is not. Once you have gamma knife you are not as good of a candidate for mvd since you’ve damaged the nerve already. If your doctor says you are a good candidate for mvd I would go with that first. In my opinion (based on my many discussions with my doctor) gamma should be last in the list of things to try. I would start with mvd since it doesn’t damage the nerve and then if that doesn’t work you still have all of the nerve damaging procedures left to try.
I agree with HCal. I have already made the decision to do the MVD when the time comes.
