Has anyone been in an accident after being dx with TN.? Just wondering what the complications were with the insurance people.
I was rear ended at a stop light by big truck Sunday afternoon. Went to hospital on a board by ambulance … no fun. in neck brace 4 hours .Got a concussion and neck and back spasms and pain. Topramax seems to be holding back head pain so far.
So I’m 2 days out. Planning on going to PT ASAP to get back to baseline…

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. My TN became worse after being rear-ended. I suffered a whiplash, a labrum tear in the shoulder, and hairline factures on my elbow. I have TN on left side of my face and strangely, after the accident, the pain spread through the entire left side of my body. I made a mistake by going to a massage therapist after the accident - the massage made everything worse. Please take good care of yourself and be extra careful with who you seek treatments from.
Kc- You've been rear-ended SEVEN times??? How's that possible? It makes me angry how people are not paying attention. I've also been rear-ended AND front-ended who backed up at traffic light. I've been hit on the side by a driver who tried to pass me on a single lane street. I've also been hit by a car while walking! It's crazy...there must be a lot of blind people driving.

I’m worried that I won’t get right therapy. My neck and back painfull spasming and I am really dizzy . This is really not fun at all. 500000. Phone calls about what I am doing and who I am seeing and insurance car issues. Ughhhhhhhh
Janice- I am sorry...I didn't get the right therapy, either. I didn't even find out what injuries I had for about a month after the accident because I don't have health insurance and the orthopaedic doctor's office refused to even make an appt for MRIs till I paid in full($3000)! So, I had to wait for my paycheck to make an appt. The other driveds car insurance will not compensate for my medical expenses until I finish all of my treatment, so I've been paying out of my own pocket. I hope you have a better luck with the insurance and the doctor's offices.
No, but that is one of my fears is a head injury from ANYTHING.
Any injuries from the accident should be covered by the other party that hit you. They may say that you have a pre-existing condition and take that into effect as to what they are going to pay for, but if your TN was aggravated by the accident then they should cover that as well, I am not sure where you live, each state and country has different insuance laws. I live in Delaware and the bodily injury part of insurance is so screwed up you have no choice but to hire a lawyer.
I work for an insurance company, it all depends on which one you are dealing with, some do suck and what the state or local laws are,
I hope you get past this quickly
