TN development after auto accidents

hello.

anyone start their TN symptoms after an auto or other injury?

Mine started after I fell and slammed the right side of my face on some concrete.....Had a small flare today....Neurotin is helping a little bit.... It has almost been 2 months for me since the accident.... How did yours start?

Yes…can happen…whiplash itself is a big trigger if you have nerve biology that makes you more likely to get this

Please read treatments in theeeee book Striking Back by dr ken Casey…many options to try…and learn, read, ask, repeat… The more knowledge you have, the better things can become in your favor…but no cure, no guarantee… Remission with meds, remission after surgery, or spontaneous remissions are the gifts we seek…

Rare disease, support is important!!!

I am going to see Dr. Casey on Tuesday actually. He is here in Michigan where I am.

Oh you are sooooo lucky.... he was my surgeon --- 2 years later - pain cut by 95% and holding.

I flew from Missouri to get him. He has been around decades longer than most who treat this.

Let us know what happens!

Tomorrow is my appointment, down side is that he does not accept HAP (which is what I have) and my auto is 2ndary. So I have to pay out of pocket for any time I see him. My initial appointment is $300.

I was in an auto accident, was at a stop light and a woman hit me going about 30/35 mph slamming me into the truck in front of me. This caused whip lash and the side of my head was slammed back against the auto seat head rest. I am wondering how people work with this condition... I am having a very hard time

Was not easy on those meds --- that's why I put lidociane prescription on my face - so I could keep my meds lowered, and pain lowered so I could face going to work.

some here are on disability, some work part time, some have surgery so they can attempt normal life....

Can you tell me... how long did it take you to get diagnosed? I am the COO of a large behavioral heath agency and a clinical therapist... I am having a VERY hard time processing things and doing things and adjusting right now.

I had a flare up this morning while with a patient and started crying during the meeting.

Grt your GP to call in lidocaine now… It took me weeks to get dx because oral surg gave me whiplash

I too am a clinical therapist

I am working part time… Trying to get on short term disability…just read it could take up to 18 months for nerve to heal… If it does… Iowi have lidocaine patches and they help some… At least take some of the sting away…mine starts in my cheek and goes to my nose my teeth my eye and when it gets real bad I get the worst headache…I don’t have the means to travel right now… My husband and I just separated and I have a young toddler … Less stress helps but still have flares like the past two days… I am a certified coding specialist… Work from home coding electronic medical records …
