Visual problems

Hi Guys,

I have been have been getting problems with my left eye, it feels as if there is a film over it most of the time. Does anyone else get this symptom with their TN. I have seen optician who can't find any problem with the eye. I have told G.P. and neuro about this but they just seem to brush over it and concentrate on the pain. I know this seems trivial compared to the pain but it is really annoying.

Hope everyone is coping

Ann.

I would book an ophthalmologist ASAP…they will know!

I have been having problems with my left eye also for some time now. My eye felt there was a razor blade scraping on the inside of my upper eyelid and my vision gets really blurry several times throughout the day. I went to an opthamologist and it is very inflamed. I am no longer producing tears in that eye and the cornea was very inflamed. I am on three different eye drops. The pain is not as bad but my vision is not any better. I have been under his care for about 6 weeks now. I go back and see him again tomorrow. I do worry about my vision on my TN side. Diffently set up an appointment with an opthamologist immediately.

I have felt like my vision is cloudy lately as well. (I would describe it exactly as you did. Like a film is over my eyes) Was unsure if it was a medication side effect or the TN. I have been worried about my vision on my TN side as well since I have a strange numbness sensation around my eye socket that starts at my eyebrow and runs down the corner of my eye and along the side of my nose. Numbness is the only word I can think of to describe it but its not the right one really. It’s a strange sensation that is constant even when the TN pain varies in intensity. Weird.

I continue to have this same problem (of a film over my left eye) nearly all of the time. I have been checked out by eye specialist and there is no other problem besides the TN. I also recognize the description of a sort of numbness/tingling around my eye. I also have noticeable facial wrinkling on that side due to long term nerve damage. The area around my left eye is by far the most painful area for the shocking pain and seems to be where my AD is focused as well. Get your eye checked out to be sure there is no other problem going on. If not, then please insist your neurologist address the eye issues. Best wishes.

I have this problem as well Anan. I have not brought it up the my neurologist since I haven’t been there in a while. I also wake up early in the am and can hardly see. I think my eyes are all dried out. I now keep moisturizing eye drops by my bedside. I put those in and close my eyes for a while. Then I can go back to sleep for a while. Hope you get some answers. Take good care.

Thanks for the replies guys, have seen an opthamologist Kc and they said problem not with eye, gave me drops for dry eyes to see if this would help but has not made any difference. Will try to get neuro to address next time I see him.

On a different note got MRI results and have been told I definite large compression of nerve on opposite side from most of TN pain and have also been dx with spinal stenosis and 5 bulging lumbar discs which is cause of leg pains I have been moaning about. Thought I would take this opportunity to give you all an update as I have not been on for a while.

Hope everyone is well,

Ann
