TN eye not producing tears

Went to ophthalmologist today due to having more frequent eye changes on my TN side. I have been experiencing intermittent blurry vision on my left side and had gotten more frequent so thought time to see the doctor. I had my second dose of CN in December and am numb on the whole left side including the eye. He said I have damage and cornea is very inflamed nd I am no longer producing tears in that eye. Unbelievable!! Another problem!! He’s got me on 3 different eye drops Nd see him back in 2 weeks. He said I will always have to use drops but he is treating aggressively right now and hopefully can get the inflammation down but be said it will take some time.

Has anyone had this??? I have had so many added problems in the past 6 weeks. Thanks everyone and hope u r have a pain free day!!!

I don’t know what CN is…but not sure I’d have it again!

2nd opinion?

Sorry for your poor eye!

It’s always something!

Hi there
I did not have as many issues as you do, but last year I saw the eye doctor for intermittent blurry vision, and tearing of my right eye. My right side TN had been present for awhile. (I realized later that when I was having a spike in pain, my eye would tear a lot.) he diagnosed me with dry eyes, and gave me two types of medicated drops, along with artificial tears to use regularly. He did not see any relationship between TN and the dry eye, but it make sense to me that there is one.
I hope you can get this under control, and that you feel better soon.
