I’d like to find TN support groups in the RI/Eastern MA/Eastern CT areas.
I know I probably can find this on my own but I just had another ER adventure
with my Partner & am pretty sleep deprived.
Also, his pain seems to peak at night; the worst time to arrive at the ER.
is this common?
And finally, would Mass General be the best major center to work with in southern New England?
Thanks
Rob
Good evening, Rob.
I don't see anything in Rhode Island as such. And at last notice, a TN Association support group was being formed in CT. The contact for that group is Midge Pych, ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■.
In Massachusetts, there is a group in Springfield, for which the contact is Susan Urban, (413) ■■■■■■■■,
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ .
In Leonminster, you may also call Mary Anderson, (978) ■■■■■■■■, ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
I'm not certain that Mass General is the "best" major center for neurology and neurosurgery in southern New England, but it is certainly one of the centers known to have a very active program in these areas. A lot may depend on your waiting times, I suspect. If you're willing to take a train down to Columbia University Medical Center, there are also a couple of members of the TNA Advisory Board in practice in New York City.
As for the periods of worst pain, there's probably no general rule. Some patients report the only time they get relief from the pain is lying down to sleep. Others are awakened frequently by typical TN electric-shock stabs of pain.
I wish you well with a difficult situation,
Regards, Red
