I need a neurologist in the Boston, MA area who is INTERESTED and EXPERIENCED in treating very complex and very chronic Atypical Facial Pain that has been resistant to every preventative. Pain meds almost daily are what ease the pain most days but not always. ER visits needed every couple of months when pain meds don’t work. I can’t keep taking these pain meds for years as I have done. But no surgical procedure is deemed appropriate for me. Perfect MRIs. My Dr. Is out of ideas. I need someone who has an INTEREST IN and SPECIALIZES in intractable, complex, daily 24/7 Atypical unbearable ice-pick pain.
Not in Massachusetts , BUT Dr. Jeffrey Brown in NY specializes in TN and facial pain. He did all three if my surgeries, and it travel from Georgia to see him.
Christine
Have you called the offices of all these in Boston?
Under doctors tab in Mass?
I would see Dr. Lim if you can drive further--- 6 hours - might be the golden ticket!
Thanks for those suggestions above. I did try to make contact with most of the Drs listed in the “DOCTORS” tab for Massachusetts. Most of them turned out to be surgeons though. I’m looking for a Neurologist who specializes in complex facial pain - I’m not considering any surgeries. There was one neurologist on the list but he had such awful patient reviews I was leery of trying him. Dr. Jeffrey Brown and Dr. Lim, although they require long travel, which isn’t possible for me right now, might be good options in the future. So thanks for those names.
