TN and flying

I was a frequent flyer (over 50k miles per year) before my MVD. I never had any problems flying. I would take dramamine before I would fly so I would relax because I kept waiting for that one flight that something would happen but it never did.

Hi everyone, I just made it through a three hour flight without any huge elevation in my pain levels. There were some twinges and zaps here and there, but nothing major. I am relieved and thrilled. My doctor had me up my meds a bit leading up to the trip, so I bet that helped. The worst part was going without applying heat for all off the hours that we were at the airport, then on the plane and then on the train after that, especially since one of my triggers is being jostled about (dealing with bumpiness and vibrations, in particular). All is well now, though, because my partner is a Knight in Shining Armor who arranged for the hotel to put a microwave in our room.

I hope all of the rest of you will be as lucky as I was.

Asmara, how did your Mother do on the flight? I do hope that she is feeling much better now. I will be sending good thoughts your way.

Take care, everyone.
Chris

Enjoy Fiji :). I am glad to hear these positive answers too. I'm tempted to try to travel more soon, before this gets worse.

Hello Aus,I fly all the time and all long haul flights ie NZ,Nepal,Malawi and I never have any issues .Mind you I do have pain( ATN) but I sit there ,watch films etc .My pain level is always higher because even though a very seasoned traveller travel always is stressful especially when crossing several time zones.I think maybe your fear of flying will up your stress levels then pain…so perhaps your GP could prescribe you some Valium or similar for the air trip.Good luck and enjoy Fiji which is a very beautiful place.

Hi,

I traveled last month (6 hours flight) and did not have any problems at all. Enjoy Fiji!

Hi! I’ve been traveling for work quite a bit recently and I actually really enjoy flying. The pressure change honestly makes me feel better. I’d live in the sky if I could. On all of my trips being in the air was the least painful.
