I live on an island state where the main means of travel to and from is flying....I am due to fly to the mainland in Sep and back home again 10 days later.....this will be the first time that I would need to fly since being diagnosed a month ago....
I know this will be on for the Doc to answer, but I am interested in other peoples experiences in flying with TN....
I flew to my MVD - meds were lowered that week and still no problem for me personally. It isn't a question your doc will know unless he/she has TN and has flown usually!
I’ve just flown from Australia to Germany and back and it worked out very well, just the normal amount of pain for me.
Hubby made sure my air vent thingy above my head was closed off before I sat down and I kep a soft scarf across my mouth in the airport and for much of the trip as air blowing on my face is a problem for me.
I did end up with a mild migraine half way the flight to germany but I had been so worried about the flight, I guess it was the stress.
I am writing this from a hotel room a couple of days after a 7 hour flight to get here. I am pretty new to TN and was concerned too. The worst was my anxiety about changes in cabin pressure. The first leg of our trip was aboard a large jet and that was fine but on the small puddle jumper I was on for 45 minutes gave me a headache , I took 1 pill my.PCP gave me just in case and I was fine. I’m not very concerned about the trip home in a few days. Hope this helps!
