Flying

I suffer with TN & TN2. I want to visit my sister who lives 4 hours away by flight. I am afraid flying will bring on the pain. Has anyone flown and how was it?

Hello Alma,

I have just returned from holiday which was a four and half hour flight and it did not affect my TN at all. My doctor assured me it would not make any difference and he was right. I was very worried as I often suffer with terrible sinus pain when descending but both were okay. I was not on any meds for my TN and was petrified as I had recently had my first couple of really big TN pains which had me crying! I had been given Tegretol but didn’t start taking it as I didn’t want to spend my holiday out of it! Good luck and have fun.

I have just got back from a business trip (2 hour flight) and it did not affect my ATN at all. I was really nervous about flying, and this was my first flight since ATN kicked in two and half years ago, but I only got the usual stuffed ears feeling, which I have always had, so it was fine. I don't really understand why my nerve did not react to the changed altitude when I'm quite sensitive to barometric pressure changes, but I can't complain:)

Good luck and have a safe journey.

Thank you to Bolly and Oldriska for your input. Great news I can plan a trip to see my sister.

I flew last year four hours to the Caribbean and it didn't affect my ATN at all. I am also sensitive to barometric pressure with weather.
