I had an MVD April 19th and then surgery in the same site 12 days later for a CSF leak. Now I'm having horrible back pain with sciatica pain down one leg. I herniated a disc two years ago and had steroid injections that finally helped. I'm going to see the dr that did the initial injections...he's a pain specialist. I called my neurosurgeon's office to see if there would be a problem if I got the injections. His nurse told me she thought it would fine. Just wondering if any of you had this situation. I'm just concerned about it since I had the CSF leak 4 weeks ago.
Thanks!
hi ya tammyt iam going to have some pain injection in the nape of my next to c if it stops the pain of tn he said iam not a candate of mvd surgurey
tammy - hope your trip was good -- mine was! Just going one state over - no stress, best friend and no pain for now!
I think that you should question everybody and everything that comes in contact with you! I have taken oral steroids for ciatica in leg this year since MVD -- went fine --- did not need a shot --- maybe that is an option.
But they make me hungry!!!!!
Keep Posting!
Lorraine - have you had a second opinion???? Have you trust in this doctor? We do have recommended doctors on this site. Be careful and keep us updated!

Just got back from seeing the pain specialist. He said he didn't feel comfortable giving me steroid injections in my spine...he felt is was too risky with all that I've been through. He wants me to keep taking the oral steroids, muscle relaxers, and pain pills....more pills!!! But they are helping right now....just make me extremely sleepy. I'm happy that he didn't want to just jump in and put a needle in my spine...made me respect him more!
I'm with KC...Steroids make me ravenous. I could eat my arm...I could eat your arm;)
