It’s not a noticeable swelling, it just feels thicker to me the last few days.
It’s been a rough go lately with pain, so I am using a heating bag as much as possible. Don’t know if that is causing altered sensation or not.
Just curious if you ever feel like your face is swollen?

Sometimes mine feels swollen too. Nothing you can see, I almost wonder if it's merely altered sensation?
Interesting. I would compare my feeling to that of having a sticker on the top area of my cheek. It feels slightly tight in the upper cheek, and I am acutely aware of the area.

I've had a swollen feeling from time to time. Also, every so often, the affected area (right side, near cheekbone, usually) feels hot.
I have definately had that feeling before, too. Before I knew what was wrong with me I would look in the mirror trying to figure out if it was swollen b/c i could have sworn that it felt like it was. I would ask others, too, and they would look at me like I was crazy. 
As the other stated above, I also feel like my muscles are pulled tight when the pain is at it’s worst. I get tingly & hot sensations, as well.
my right side being worse than my left does feel sightly swollen and i can tell its swollen by touch at my temple and above my ear. at times if im resting my head and i lay on my right side it feels like im laying on a soft ball from my temple to behind my ear i thought it was my imagination or from the 2 MVD surgeries that i had (2008 and 2011) so i never said anything about it to any one. im glad to hear its not just me .
My Right side is alway swollen - although not noticeable to the eye, definite difference in comparison to the touch.
Yes, I do. And it's not just me who noticed this, my physio and masseur also commented on that, although it's not visibile on the first sight; they could feels lumps, muscles in spasm in my neck and jaw area. Usually, the swelling comes down or at least is much less after massage of those sore/thick lumps on neck and face and after acupuncture.
I too feel swollen on the affected side of my face. Especially inside the cheek. I often fear I will bite it. It doesn't look swollen but I feel it. I also have a burning sensation on the left side of my tongue and throat. I don't know if that is normal for TN2 or not but it is for me.
Yes, the right ( worse) side of my face always feel a little swollen to the touch. It does actually look swollen when my pain in high. My teenaged daughter is the one that first noticed it, so it is parent!

Reassuring to know I’m not the only one…I feel the difference to the touch on my cheek and along jaw line, but it doesn’t really look swollen, it feels noticeably thicker though.
I appreciate all your responses, you know how sometimes when you’re in soooo much continuous pain, you start to consider whether or not it’s a tooth, even though you know its TN, as your teeth are fine Heath wise…ugh.
Anyway, it does make sense that our sensation is altered…

My right side, because I have bi- lat pain. Feels like someone is grabbing my cheek with their fingers.. Constant tightness that does not ever go away. Meds do not help this. I also have on the inside of mouth a odd feeling also changes my taste. gives off a sweet taste in mouth. I have the tightness on inside of gum area almost like I had a novicane.

Yeah I don't really know hwo to explain the pain sometimes. It feels like the side of my face is burning, exploding, being crushed at the same time, sometimes it feels numb or tingles. the jaw hurts constantly. Teeth pain alternates between teeth both top and bottom. Ear hurts. Sometimes its sharp shock pain. sometiems it tingles, or feels like its getting crushed or exploding. Its constant on the right side. The inside of my mouth also feels strange. I have pain on the right side. even further inside on occasion. Does this kind of stuff happen to the rest? Do you feel similar things?
I am not sure if I am getting headaches from this or if I am getting headaches that are causing this pain. I have a hard time putting my finger on the source of the pain. As for the swollen feeling, and the heat, I used to ask about that often. I asked everyone I knew when I was with them if they can see a difference or feel a difference but they could not.
What about the eye? does anyone get this stabbing pain in the eye that feels like it goes through and stops right in the middle of your brain? The pain then travels but it varies where it goes to.
I get the pain thaf feels like a sharp sta bbing thru my eye and f hen pain that moves like a bouncy ball thru my head just moving from spot to spot. I have bi lat TN type 1 and2 as well as occipital neuralgia
Yes, I feel it on the inside. It is always thicker, and sometimes, others say I look swollen on that side.
Even feels like your biting the side of your mouth but your not. My taste is off, gives me a odd taste sensation on the inside upper gum area. I'am I the only one who gets this?

My right side (the bad side) is always swollen. As my pain gets worse, it gets more swollen. I have people comment on it when it gets really bad. It is swollen so often, I am getting little wrinkles under that eye where it flares up.
