My Atypical TN pain came back about 6 days ago. As usual my teeth feel rotten and my face hurts (on one side). This time I have a swollen area along my jaw. I have never had swelling like this before. Have any of you? As usual, I always start wondering if something is wrong with my teeth. Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced this.
Yes I have a small area of swelling along my jaw line. I have pointed it out to every dentist and doctor i have seen and no one thought anything of it.
Yep-- My left cheek swelled and was red and hot at times.... when I was having the flare not all the time though...
yes, during flare ups, my "pain side" gets warms to the touch and is swollen to a small degree, but enough that my husband can see it.
Also, for me, my pain side looks like it's sagging just a bit...i mean a matter of millimeters, but i can tell because of the position of a birthmark/freckle thingie relative to my nose has widened a tiny bit. Just sayin', that side of my face has changed...*two cents*
For the longest time, i really kept thinking i was just imagining it. Trying desperately to "see" some manifestation of the pain i was in, ya know. But yeah, it really does happen.
