My very first attack I thought was a tooth abcess I was on percocet but no matter what time 4 hours later the pain was back. Dead asleep and my eyes would pop open and I was wide awake. Since then, I haven't had any problems at night. But I know it can be as time goes on. Do you have atypical TN? I've read that it's common for those with atypical TN.
Hi,i definently have night pain.at its worse could wake me every hour.before treatment with tegretol i would try taking painkillers (strong ones given to me at emergency)and they wouldnt even keep me sleeping.Now taking tegretol i dont get sharp electric shock pain but if i lay on that side i get a sharp ache down that side of my face from the ear to jaw at chin.so i know what you are saying.i always think if i can sleep well i will deal better with the daytime pain.i actually take a higher dose of tegretol at night to help.
always worse at night for me… but I have ATN.
Mine is normally worse in the morning first thing and at night last thing. Even though I could comfortably sleep on my left side (the side I have my TN) I don't, because when I do, I seem to have a bad day with pain the next day (oh how I miss my left side).
