Does anyone elses TN get worse at night time. Mine has been terrible for the last few weeks at night time. It always has seemed worse than during the day, but just these last few weeks it has become unbearable. It wakes me around 2am and for the next hour I could scream, cannot even pick my head from the pillow the pain is so bad. I am not due to see my consultant until the middle of April. It has been really cold in the night for the past few weeks, so I was wondering if that could ahve sparked the se attacks off. I do have quite a lot of pain during the day but nothing like the night time session. Margaret
Yes Margaret…mine is bad too. I am due to take my meds around 2 a.m. and it sure lets me know. Sometimes I cannot hardly open my mouth to get the pills in let alone drink. I open my mouth just enough to push the pills in, than am tortured the whole time I am drinking to swallow them. I hate this. You are not alone…Mary
Hi Mary,
Just a thought. When I was in hospital last time, I could not put anything in my mouth because of the pain and sensitivity which meant I was unable to take medication. One of the nurses who had worked on a pediatric ward remembered that liquid Tegretol was used on small children and infants. She put the liquid into a syringe and I managed to fire it into the back of my throat. The relief was almost immediate. I don't know if this would be an option for you. As I say, just a thought.
Regards
Jim
