I am ready to go in for eithier surgery. I have been reading up on both. I think the MVD has a longer sucess for no pain. Any comments?
I’m having an MVD next month. I’m kind of anxious about it.
Hi Mark,
It is normal to be anxious. I went through that but then the last two weeks I did feel peace. I was hurting so badly that I didn’t feel as if I had any other choice. But I only waited 3 weeks from the time I saw the surgeon so I didn’t have to wait for very long.

Kristin,
I chose MVD because I thought it was the best possible chance for being pain free and for it to last for a longer time. It helped me tremendously but I was not pain free. And mine didn’t last long but I am considering doing it again. If I was knew I could get the same pain relief as before, I know I would do it again.

After medication ‘side-effects’ - (DIRECT-EFFECTS), I was scheduled for the ‘Knife’ and got the ‘scalpel’; due to my last umpteenth MRI showing something too close to my brain stem…later, I had 2 ‘Knives’.
The drug company ads tell us to, “Talk to you doctor”. I’m still anxious! bob
Maybe I really meant scared. I think macho went out the window a while back.
I’m already numb from the GK so it can only get better. Right now I’m itching all over with a rash on my scalp and chest. I’ve had enough of drug therepy I think. Thanks friends, for your support.
