Right now I am sitting at the airport in Alabama waiting to leave for Maryland to have MVD surgery at Johns Hopkins with Dr. Lim and Dr. Ahm I think it is??
But they said I have to stay up there two weeks so they can keep an eye on me. Did anybody else have to have a watchful eye on them or were the doctors like free to go??
I realize I’m 16 with this but I didn’t know if anybody else was like this.
hi Kelly, they are probably just giving you a longer time frame , doesn’t mean you’ll have to stay there that long.But it’s better to stay and be looked after to ensure there’s no complications, before they send you home.

The two week stay makes more sense now if there could be longer healing time.
Better to be under their care longer then face issues at home. Sounds like you will be in good hands.
In my experience the fear and anxiety before the mvd was way worse then the recovery. Just listen to your body and don’t be afraid to ask the nurses for whatever you need while you’re in the hospital. If you get TN pain after the mvd, don’t be discouraged either, it takes time for the nerve to heal, up to 6 months to a year.
