Meds, patches, creams, mouthwashes and sprays!

I am wanting information on how successful each of the above pain control options were for you. Don’t hold back; give me the good, the bad and the ugly of your experiences with these.

KC Dancer SWEARS by these things! I am sure she will comment on this. If she doesn't, send her a message.

The problem is, each of us have different success and failures with meds. I adapted to gabapentin, but couldn’t take tegretol, although it blocked the pain. Some people have great success with tegretol. However, I think almost everyone has breakthrough pain. Then they up or add meds. You must be your own advocate here. Learn as Mich as you can. This site has given me more info than any doctor.

Ta Da -- Here I am -- I should be a lidocaine saleswoman!!! If I had a dollar for every time I recommended this $$$$$$$$$

I had the cream and the patch. I put the cream on for going in public. I cut the patches into little cheek sized bits and wore them for 12 hours at a time - that's how long they last. I was able to lower my meds that made me stupid

3 times with these.

I was able to walk the dog.

They really helped before my surgery and then some after.

I'm in remission now, but because of PTSD of TN - I will never throw them out! But they do expire someday!

I've seen maybe 10 people on here in the last year that had sucess with these for breakthru pain.

I saw that one lady broke out in a rash - should try it on your hand first perhaps -- but it's just like novacaine without the needle!

If it wasn't for this site - I would have never KNOWN to tell my dr. to get me some!

Just put each one in your post - into the search box above!

Hello KC Dancer! How is the patch used? Have you used the mouthwash? Your words encourage me.

I just came back from my doctor to ask for the lidocaine patch and she wouldn't give it to me as there was no studies that said it worked for nerve pain. I told her that many on this message board swear by it but until she sees a studay saying it will work she won't prescribe it. Guess I will stick to red wine!

Sheila -- FIRE your doctor -- that is like asking for oragel and needing studies on it first : ( BAAAAAD doctor!

can you ask your primary? Its not a freakin narcotic!

Under the "Groups" tab - there is a group for topical/lidocaine/mouthwash started !

I never had pain inside my mouth - so I never tried the mouthwash - the patches saved my life - my mind

Where is the group tab? Please help me break thru this mental dullness!! I don’t think I am using this site to it’s full potential. Apparently there is more info on sprays, patches and cremes under the group tab.
