Laser Therapy Anyone?

So for the past 3-4 weeks I’ve been having Laser Therapy by my AWESOME Chiropractor, Dr. Myhre Dohrman at Lyon County Chiropractic. 3 times a week! (Well, this week was only twice.) Anyway, I think this is actually helping me! I’m wondering if anyone else out there in TN=hell=land has tried laser therapy??? I’m thinking, hey, if this is possibly working for me, maybe this could help someone else! If I were you, I’d find my nearest Chiropractor who offers laser therapy, and give them a call! It can’t hurt, it can only help! If your Chiro has questions about what settings and all the “specifics” of the treatments my Chiro is using, please let me know and I’ll pass on her phone number (privately) to my Chiro office! OR, if you are smart, you’ll just Google, Lyon County Chiropractic! But hurry, my Chiro is going to be out on maternity leave in the next few weeks…what will I do while she is gone? Oh my, I hope my pain doesn’t come back!

Anyway, seriously, when I started, my pain was almost at a 7-9/10! I’m down to a 0 or 1 out of 10 and THAT is ONLY at bedtime!!! I am functioning ALL DAY without any pain meds, and only taking Topamax 50mg twice a day & doing the laser therapy 3 times a week. I want to share this with my TN friends, because I hope this may help someone who is really struggling! Please consider this as an alternative! Also, the Office Manager did say that many Insurance companies will cover Laser Therapy, although for me, paying cash for the Laser Therapy is cheaper than my Co-Pay! Just a suggestion! Good Luck and let me know if any of you have tried it, or are going to!!!

Hugs to all you TN’ers!

Thanks! I am trying cold laser therapy as soon as my chiro. gets his machine devise back from a "recalibration" or whatever he called it, lol. I am so hoping this is the answer! Awe can easily live with a 1-2 pain, but those 7-10 times even if only for a few to several minutes wipes me out!!

Thanks for sharing. Are the lasers on pads? Can you describe more how the lasers are and how long the treatments are, etc. How many days/treatments did it take for you to feel results? Did they target the whole cheek or certain areas?

thanks

nwbeach:

It was a handheld laser (similar to ultrasound head)...She ran it along my right lower jaw and in front & behind my right ear. The treatments took 5-10 minutes each. I went 3 times a week for 3 months and had EXCELLENT results! Unfortunately, my chiropractor left this office and went back to school for further medical training, so she is no longer there. Many insurance companies do NOT pay for laser therapy, which I think is ridiculous! Also, beware of the laser units that you can purcase online. Chances are they are not a REAL cold level laser unit. The one at my Chiros office was well over $10,000. Initially, I thought I'd just buy a laser machine so I could do my own self-treatment, but was shocked to find out that a real unit that actually works costs $10K. There are many different styles out there that claim to do the job, but they are just a laser "light" and it doesn't really penitrate the area like it is supposed to. Anyway, let me know if you have further questions! Good Luck!

Robbie,

Did it ever come back? How are you doing now?
