I'm Going to be on the News Tomorrow Night

Hi everyone,

I hope this is a good day for you. :) I wanted to let you know that I'll be talking about my TN on KOMO 4 news at 11 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) evening. A newscaster from Seattle contacted me after reading my story on this site and asked if she could interview me about TN. I didn't want to pass up an opportunity to make the public aware of this horrible condition and to possibly encourage people who have it. I'm so thankful I was able to do this, even though I was really nervous.

Oh, a couple of other great things that came out of this is that they also interviewed my neurologist who is a top neurologist in our area. I haven't seen the newscast yet, but I'm hoping she was able to shed some light on the subject of Trigeminal Neuralgia. The other positive that came out of this is that I was able to show some of the good things that have come into my life since my diagnosis with TN and MS.

So, if you you happen to be from the Seattle area, you'll be able to watch it! And if not, and you're interested in seeing it, I'll see if I can find a link to post so you can watch it online. Please pray that great things will come out of this. I'm feeling hopeful. :)

That’s great Vicki! So important to inform people about this condition.
I look forward to seeing it via a link!

Thanks, Mimi! I hope it really does encourage someone or that something good comes from it. If I can figure out how to link it, I'll do that. ;)

Hope you're doing well, Mimi. Thanks for being such a huge support to people on this site. You are appreciated!!

Hugs back,

Vicki

Great to hear you are helping get the word out… My opinion is TN and Facial Pain/ Neuropathies in general are mis or undiagnosed, under reported, mishandled, and in general fly under the radar. Many suffer needlessly because of it. Hopefully the more it is brought into the light the more people will get appropriate treatment, and those treatments will become better and better.

I agree, Joe. Hope this sheds at least a little light on it. Thanks for your comment ... I appreciate it. :)

Hello Vicki

I am sorry I have been out of touch the past month - looks like I have lots to catch up on with you ;)

Especially viewing the interview...the comments I have been reading sounded like you did very well and educated our area...I will have to share that link with some of my friends who after 12 years of this I still can't explain to them to make it comprhensiable.

The past month I was working, but also giving around the clock care with family roatations to assist my Mother(inlaw) so she could be comfortable at home....she peacefully passed and the service was yesterday.

So now I am catching back up with life.

Of course with the added stress my TN is full blown once again.

Work is over next week for summer vacation so I plan on resting and having it subside again SOON! It would be my plan anyway...not sure it will cooperate, but will try ;)

It is nice having such pretty weather again! Enjoy it.

I will be in touch..

Your PNW Neighbor,

mary ann

Hi Mary Ann,

So nice to hear from you!! I was just thinking about you yesterday. We really need to make a point of getting together this Summer. And, I agree ... it really is great to have such nice weather again!

I'm so sorry about your Mother-in-Law. You are such a strong person to be there for your family while you're having TN pain. I don't know how you managed. Now it's time to take care of you and get some pampering yourself.

I can't remember if I sent you my phone number. I'll send it in a message soon. :)

Hope the interview is helps your friends/family to understand. I thought they did a pretty good job in just a 3 minute slot.

Thanks again for writing, Mary Ann. Hope to talk to you again soon!!

For those of you who live in other states, I think you can still follow this link to watch the news report about TN. Hope this helps!
