Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. its a burning/sore/sometimes numb sensation accompanied by red patches on the tongue - frequently showing up after eating spicy or acidic foods - these do trigger Geographic Tongue for me but i've also noticed that when my pain level is high - & i salivate a lot, i have these GT symptoms. i was wondering if its possible for you body chemistry to change when you are experiencing pain? for your body to create an acide environment in your mouth?
they say only 2% of the population experiences Geographic Tongue - which annoys me even more - how the hell did i end up with TN & this?? lol insane.
i also has Georaphic Tongue - every doctors says it - but as i understand , it has nothing to do with the TN (but who knows.. maybe in years to come they'll find a connection.
anyway had this for years. don't feel tongue burning etc. don't think it's connected. and the doctors say it isn't- and this is one thing i belive them .( and i do doubt many of thier knowledge)
i don't think they are necessarily "related" entirely or at all but that perhaps when the body experiences pain, & i mean A LOT of pain, that it can create an acidic environment in the mouth or body as a whole. when i'm in pain i tend so salivate more and in turn aggrivate the geographic tounge. all symptoms are different. some people only get the patches. i get patches, burning, numbness in some spots, & soreness. i'll live, its just a pain in the ass lol like we need to deal with this nonsense on top of TN
