Facial Swelling

yes, subtle but indeed a swelling. It is gettting worse the longer I have the HARD flareups. I don't care what the docs say; they are indeed smart and we are fortunate to have them, but until they walk a week in our shoes, they don't have a REAL clue.

I have swelling on my TN side from my eyebrow down to my mouth, and it is always worse when I am in pain. I have had this for years, beforemy diagnosis, and well before I ever took any medication. No doctor seems to know why.

When I was flared up it was very obvious. When I smiled (not often) my TN side barely turned up. I have swelling on the inside of my jaw.

I finally had a pain mgmt doc who took a stab on possible cause of my swelling -at least initial cause -inflammation & possible infection if parotid glands/ducts. she’s the first one who has NOT dismissed a possible link so who knows?

Though maybe not visible to others, I think I do too. Actually right now, I am going through some pretty bad breakthrough pain and my eye is watering and is slightly more swollen or closed than my other eye. I feel like my cheek under my eye is puffy and I can even hear my sinuses crackle once in a while. I've once felt the tip of my nose throb like I had been punched. These things are not med induced - I believe it to be very real.

Hits I have type 2 and I have definite swelling and if I put my head back I have a lot of facial weakness on the right side , the Neurosurgeon told me to try to keep my head level , I have had it do 19 yrs now and I can defiantly confirm a lot of swelling at times ,

Sorry about the spelling , this phone is really hard to type with .
