Is that even possible? I actually hear the zaps. Sounds like crackling or something. I don't know if that is even possible, or am I going insane... I mean, insanity might be right about now :)
Hi Lisa,
I've heard and felt zappings coming from what I can only describe as inside my brain for many years. I've told the doctors about it but no one was able to give me any explaination. Mine sound like a short electric current, for lack of a better way of describing it. It's very annoying, but it doesn't hurt.
A few years before symptoms really started setting in I started hearing crackling in the ears when I move my tongue and when I swallow. It doesn't hurt but its incredibly annoying. When they first started happening saw a bunch of dentists / ENTs / etc to try and figure out what it was but they more or less gave up. Since then I've more or less gotten used to it (though it annoys me plenty still)
For me though, this is unrelated to when my actual pain hits (AFAIK)
Lisa,
I don't know if I would call them "zapping", but although I am a Type II patient, I often hear what I can describe as a sort of "electrical" sound behind my ears (I have bilateral ATN). Sometimes, it is accompanied with pain, and sometimes not.
I could, however, describe it as "crackling", something like an old radio in between stations trying to tune in without the background fuzz. Strange . . ..
I am not certain what it is, or if it is TN/ATN related. It seems that it would be.
All the best, friend!
Stef
Yeah, the sound isn't really a crackling... I have been trying to define it. It's kind of like when you are walking on carpet and you shock someone... that sound that you sometimes hear, only it is in my head.
I hear it, too, Lisa! Strange, huh? Glad to know I'm not crazy in this. lol.
Thanks for sharing. :)
Hi Lisa you are not going nuts i have it too
