Changing of the Season: extra pressure?

does anyone else feel extra pressure as the temps drop or humidity rises? Im a bit afraid of the approaching winter, but not sure what to do. It feels like a giant glove is squeezing my head or a boot pressing down on the searing hot rail road tie that had already been jammed into my head.

Any tips to get through til March is appreciated!s

The cold, the wind, the rain, the barometric pressure - these all trigger my face. I have gone through several winters and I avoid leaving the house. If I do have to leave I try to wear something with a hood so I can limit the facial exposure.

I dread winter. I live in Minnesota and my job includes working outside in all weather conditions.

Get someone else to start your car whenever possible.

Park as close as you can to the door you want to enter, and keep stops short so the car doesn't get cold.

Hire neighborhood kids to shovel for you if you don't have your own. Teach them the value of sand if you're unsteady on your feet. While they're out there, hand them a box of Christmas decorations if you're so inclined.

Put aside vanity and get the longest, widest scarf you can buy. Make sure it's a soft material, natural if you can afford it. Cashmere is wonderful, cotton/cashmere blend is a lot cheaper and more durable.

A jacket with a big hood is very nice on windy days, you might look like the grim reaper, but your scarf will fit inside it.

Talk to your doctor about it. Maybe you can get handicapped plates? If you do, expect dirty looks.

Anything that can be delivered should be delivered.

Invite friends over for dinner instead of going out. Don't freak out about the meal, it's the conversation that counts.

Stream videos instead of going to the movies.

Try not to think about it now, but after Christmas start noticing that the days are getting longer again. It gives you hope.

Jacob you crack me up, my "downstairs" is all good - like you I have a sets of these and special pants. I play golf year round. :) Maybe a lidocaine/heat pad for under my cap??

Tina S: Thank you for all the great tips!!
