Hi everyone! Well this is my update… I had my appointment with the neurosurgeon/anesthesiologist/pain management guy today. I totally forgot he was thinking of doing something to me today! He gave me the ON block on both sides, but it was very different than the ones the neurologist gave me. He used bigger needles and very deep and rubbed it into place, much more painful than the neuro and I had a nasty metallic/acidic taste in my mouth and very dizzy (the vertigo) he also told me I would be in lots of pain for a few days. He had told me, last time that he was thinking of doing a block someplace in the neck area for the pain but I guess he decided this is best to start with. Can’t sleep, the pain is too much right now so I am keeping it short! I hope it works and I will keep the updates coming for the others that get this.
Diana, did he give you aftercare instructions for the pain? I know when I had my first ON nerve block from my current neurologist/pain management guru, he told me it would be sore at the injection site and to put ice on it for a specific amount of time every few hours to calm it as well as specific directions on otc pain meds. Hope you are feeling better soon and that the block takes well for you!
Yes he told me to put ice and he gave me vicodine and IB, and flexerall (spelling on everything)Kind of in la la land. I got 3 before from the regular neuro and it did not hurt this much and it did not help. The needles were way bigger this time. I wonder if they were the same kind. Thanks for the well wishes and I pray it works. Did it help you?
