I am finding the breathing cool air from air conditioning is a trigger for TN pain in the top of my head. The conflict is that if I spend time out on a hot day the headache pain goes away. HOWEVER, after spending a day outside in the heat causes my fibromyalgia to flare up big time.
I can go back inside...instigating a headache and still suffer with the fibromalgia flare up for a week or so. This means now both issues are ganging up on me. Any suggestions.
BTW, I'm starting with a new neuro. I can't be seen until August as a new patient. The long wait may have something to do with the transfer to a new state of the art Neuroscience Institute. I hope he's worth the wait.
I'm not sure if you are talking about work or home - if home - use attic fans, window fans, other fans that are not directly on you and stay away from or close most AC vents -- or turn it up till tolerable....not sure where you live
If it is at work - ask for reasonable accomodations

The cool air from the airconditioner triggers both TN and Fibromyagia for me.So today the pain was so bad, shut the air off.I cant function at all,its all on my left side. The sun triggers my eye to hurt then the jolts and stabbing start,I hate when it hits my eye and head,I cant handle that.I have to keep my house dark because of this.
You sound like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place! The air con at my work sets me off with Type 1 attacks (not so much now I am on meds that work for me luckily). Are you able to rearrange your seating/furniture so that it's not on you at all?
Thanks for the ideas. As for home, I've shut off the a/c vents in my room and use a small fan to keep the air flowing. Now at work my office has recently been redone with a new workstation. When building it there is only one way it can go as it is a large and complex unit. It's right under the A/C vent. I have closed that off, but the guys keep it pretty cold in here. They run in and out all day to very hot warehouses and need the relief. I actually run the heat on the hotter days when they have the a/c cranked up....at least until I get caught by the boss who only sees dollar sign flying out the window. He is likely to toss my heater through the window and me along with it.
P.S. I really should check my spelling;)
We knew what you meant!
Some people have been known to wear scarves on face at work
I knitted a big scarf recently since this will be my first winter with TN and I know chilly breezes will set me off (it's getting cold already down here!)
