TN and being Pregnet

Im starting IVF soon and i keep thinking about what will happen when i get a flare up while pregnet?
I would love to hear of any women that have been pregnet with TN and how you coped this would help me out so much.
Is there any meds that i can take that will not be harmful to the baby?

Thank you all please comment
love Tamina xx

I wish I was in your shoes to be honest Tamina, I would love to start a family. Anyways, unfortunately I am not - I hope someone else here is able to answer your questions - but for now, I highly reccomend that you also consult with your Neurologist if you have one - while you work with your IVF company. Preferably go to see him prior to starting your IVF. Are you currently taking any medications? These will need to be discussed and maybe stopped… But see the Neuro first ok? They can help with all of this! Enquire about being part of a pain clinic - maybe it’s possible that any flare ups can be controlled with nerve blocks per se - I’m not certain about pregnancy with these nerve blocks, it is not mentioned (pregnancy) on the web sites. But worth a try - they can stop an attack and further pain for up to a week. Also look at this site: http://www.deaconess.com/body.cfm?id=1916 Talk to your doctors, they can definitely help you!

Best wishes to you Tamina!! Please keep us updated on how you progress? Best wishes to you to remain pain free during your pregnancy!

Hi Tamina. I was diagnosed woth TN 3 years ago and a year later I was pregnant with no medication( had to stop taking it doc said due to the risks involved. TEGRETOL). The first 4 months were hard but the following 12 months were good as the TN went into remission. It is now back but I had a beautiful healthy 2 year old girl. Best of luck with everything. Karen x
