Tinnitus

My ears I called popping, but your buzzing is more accurate. It got so bad went to an ENT as it had become a 24/7 problem too. He had little to offer for a solution, but he believed the Gamma Knife surgery had something to do with it. It was driving me nuts, but then I tried an ear plug. That gave me some relief, but couldn't hear out of that ear. Then I found something on the internet and tried it. Magnesium 400mgs and it worked! It has given me almost a 90% improvement. I take it everyday and very happy it is all but gone. Now you should check with your Doctor first, because there might be issues with the meds you are taking.

I hope this works for you, but if not I hope you find something. TN is enough without ear buzzing!! That pretty much was pushing me over the edge! If you have question feel free to write me.

Do you have any digestive issues taking the magnesium? I was told to take 1,000 which was WAY too much. I can handle 400-500 but it gives me a bad stomach ache (and loose bowels) every now and then. I can't figure out how to take it w/o getting that to happen. I take it at night because it makes me a bit drowsy...sometimes. lol It's never constant with me.

Ihold.. No problems that I could notice. I was thrilled it worked and with all the meds I take no problems with loose bowls. Remember also the ear plugs did work pretty well until the magnesium kicked in. You could always try it at 400mg everyday and if that's too much play around with it. Maybe try 200mgs or taking the 400mgs every other day. Good luck and just check with your Doc or pharmacist that it doesn't interact with you medication. I'm still happy for this victory! If that doesn't work my ENT was going to give me Xanax. Well was already on it so that didn't work for me, but and ENT might prescribe it for you I guess depending on your current meds.

Let me know if the magnesium does work or if you find something that does. Good luck!!

I have just started amitriptyline, and after my FIRST 10 mg, I got pulsatile tinnitus. A question for those of you who have established that it is a side effect; did it ever go away, like the normal side effects do? I am currently on Tegretol too. Have only taken 10 mg twice yet, with a day in between, and weirdly did not get this when I was on it 5-6 years ago. I actually get more TN pain from the noise, which is a trigger for me. I agree that we have enough on our plates already…

I had ringing in my right ear yes. After I started my medication it eased away with the pain. I sometimes here and there get it.

Thanks, that’s interesting. However, depending on how long that takes, I might go insane…
