Can someone please tell me this will pass. I had my mvd on July 15 and the dizziness is still there. There is still numbness on right side. I can’t seem to get myself to do anything I have a follow up with dr lim on Thursday he wants me to do a ct scan before he try me on some meds for dizziness. I took a month off of work. Also my daughter is leaving for collage and my son starts school and I am supposed to drive him to school and pick him up in between my job. Thank you for any advice on this.
ANGELA WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT , I HAD MVD ON JULY 24 AND AM HAVING A REAL STRUGGLE GETTING GOING. YEARS AGO I WAS SPLIT END TO END FOR CANCER SURGERY AND WAS UP AND AROUND IN NO TIME.THIS IS MUCH HARDER. I HAVE A CLOSE FRIEND WHO ALSO JUST HAD MVD AND WE ARE BOTH THE SAME AS YOU, NO ENERGY, NO MOTIVATION. I AM HAVING TO PUSH MYSELF JUST TO WALK EVERY DAY. I ALSO HAVE HAD HOT /COLD SWINGS AND THE DIZZINESS HAS HIT BOTH OF US. I HAVE BEEN IN REGULAR CONTACT WITH MY SURGEON DR. JEFFREY BROWN IN NY CITY AND HE PREPARED ME THAT THIS TAKES MORE THAN A MONTH TO GET BACK TO PREVIOUS ENERGY. I HAVE SIMILAR WITH RESPONSIBILITY WITH KIDS BUT I AM CONVINCED WHEN THEY OPEN THE LINING TO BRAIN IT REALLY IMPACTS WHOLE BODY IN DIFFERENT WAYS,MY FRIEND WHO HAS BEEN ALSMOST 2 MONTHS STILL DOES NOT HAVE STAMINA TO WORK. Hi I had my MVD on July 22. So slow to get my energy back and horribly dizzy AND nausea. Feeling so queasy in the morning, I am now taking gravol before I get out in bed. On the good side that actually pain from surgery area is getting less and less each day. I was told by NS not to drive until I see him for the 6 weeks follow up. Right now I don't think I could even if I wanted to. I knew it would hurt and I can deal with that but the dizzy and being nausea is hardest for me right now. Please post what your doc suggests, I don't see my doc until week Monday. Thanks J
Yes, I have had several hot/cold flashes as well even check my temp while it was happening and was normal. So strange.
My dr suggest to do a ct scan on Monday before he will put me on meds for being dizzy. I will see him on Thursday 15 for 4 weeks but his assistance told me to drink caffeine. Sometimes you loose too much brain fluid during surgery. I tried that but no help. I looked it up and saw that dizziness could also be from not having enough blood flow to the brain. I will ask him on Thursday and what else we can do for that.
