The Good The Bad & The Ugly of Possible 2nd MVD

Hi Folks

Very curious on eveyones take on 2nd MVD,wether you have personal experience,you have a friend that has had 2 MVD's or you have read something in any forums?

I am currently at 1800mg of Tegretol a day and still not total relief.2 days ago I was very close to snapping what ever that might be.Pain was 25 on a scale of 10 was just out of this world.I believe I am getting close to a magical number of meds to relieve my pain but not there yet.

I have appointment May 22 to see neurosurgeon,have many questions to ask.Have also researched alot.Have read some bad stories and good ones too.If I had to decide today I would choose 2nd MVD.Although I had a CSF leak my first MVD all was good up until 3-4 weeks ago when the crushing pain returned.First MVD was Jan 29 2010.So I did have a few years of normalacy.

Please any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry you have to consider this…number one thing is your choice of surgeon and that is the key many times. Here you will find an unbalanced view of first and second mvd results because most that do well don,t. Hang here… 2 years of being on here and in person support group… Mixed bag…but again biased because success means not needing support… I would and may have to do it again someday…and that will just be what I have to do. … Keep taking the pro active path…whatever that may be

Thank you for your response.I have appointment with Tymianski who performed 1st MVD this month May 22.I understand what your saying as having a bias result.I will keep on the straight and narrow and will update as time passes thank you once again.God Bless :)
