Well here I am once again crying my eyes out and holding my face with a warm wash cloth because of the pain. Last nite I finally caved and went back on the Tegretol. I decided I would live with the side effects rather than have this pain. I am seeing my family doctor on Friday and I'm hopeing he'll change to a different med. Hopefully he'll take this seriously when I walk in all swollen, disoriented and covered in red blotches. I hope someone is having a pain free day. Thank you all again for listening.

Lauren, if the Tegretol is giving you red blotches you need to call your doctor immediately. A rash is not good. I'm not trying to scare you, but you need to call ASAP, and when you leave a message with the nurse, tell her you're having that reaction.

Aside from that, most meds have side effects, but your body usually gets used to them. For me personally, unless it puts me in danger, I will tolerate any side effect to be rid of this pain, or at least get lower pain levels.
