I had my MVD and as far as I can tell at this point everything has gone extremely great. I was ahead of schedule in my recovery so they let me go home on Saturday instead of Sunday. On Friday they let me get up and walk around the unit (even though that was exhausting) Everyday has just been another milestone that I’m stepping on. I’m so happy that things are going so well. Pain control is becoming a struggle but we knew that that would be a problem due to my tolerance levels prior to surgery. So I’m on a lot of pain medicine but it’s okay my methodical daddy is making sure that he keeps it very well noted what times everything is supposed to be taken. It’s amazing the amount of steroids and all the other stuff I gotta take. But anyway, I’m very pleased with how everything went. I’m pretty much walking on my own now. Just really need a wall or rail or person there for some support or a just in case. But all in all doing good! Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers they are very much appreciated!
good to hear. glad everythings good. just do lots of rest.
god bless
Hi Amy…so glad you are doing fine. I have been keeping up with your progress. Still can’t decide if MVD is the way I want to go. Please keep up posted and I am really glad you are doing so well. How is the TN pain? Is it gone?
I’m so happy for you, Amy!! Keep up the good work!!
Fantastic news Amy. The worse is over...take it easy & get plenty of rest.
Take care & all my best,
Judy
That is great to hear Amy, praying that your recovery continues to go great. Remember to rest when your body tells you too
Congrats!! FOr me, we’re trying med mgmt first and I’m hoping I wont’ need surgery. I hope your recovery continues to go well and is painfree
Amy,
It is so nice to read the success of your surgery. Having MVD appears so scary to me, but hearing positive stories like yours give me the encouragement to do this myself. Please continue to share your progress!

Sounds like good news, Amy! I am happy for you. I am curious as to whether you had Type I or Type II TN symptoms prior to surgery, though. I read on your profile that your cheek hurt, a shocking pain? At any rate, I'm glad it's gone! I hope that this serves you well! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us! Take care!

Hey Everyone! Sorry I haven't updated more recently! Recovery is going pretty good. I'm not off all my pain meds yet which I thought I would be off completely by now. But at least I'm not on the checklist of meds they sent me home with! I'm getting a little stir crazy at home but my dad let me drive my car today... from the driveway to the garage. It was nice to drive again even if it was just a few yards.
What I'm sure everyone *including myself* is wondering is what about the TN pain? Well I'm not exactly sure... I KNOW it's better that I know for absolutely sure. I can eat steak and ice cream now... two things that were impossible before. But I do get shocking pains sometimes. It'll only last a few seconds but it's almost like a ghost of my old TN pain. My doc said to wait it out see how things go over the next couple weeks and see what the pain is like then. SO we'll see what happens!
Even though I love rocking my side braided pony tail... I'm so ready for this Friday because STITCHES come out! Once stitches come out, I'll be able to get my puppy back too so I'm really happy about that.
Hope everyone else is doing well!
