Mvd update

Hi All,
Just got to my sisters house after being released from the hospital. I had MVD on my left side on Monday the 14th, and so far am feeling pretty good. This recovery seems even better than the one in January, which was the MVD on the right side. Fingers and toes crossed! Will keep you all updated!
Christine

Bump!

Shouldn’t you be on drugs and sleeping?.. Wow… Let us know!

Hi Christine,

I'm new here and I'd be interested in more info about MVD. Glad to hear your recovery is going well! :)

Does this mean you don't need to take meds? I would love to get off of meds!!

How long did it take for you to get into surgery, is there a waiting list?

I guess you have to go through your Dr. first?

I have an appointment this Monday for an orientation with the Chronic Pain Centre here in Calgary, I'm hoping they'll have some info. That took about a year and a half of waiting to get in there, I am praying my pain is ok by then!!!

I had never heard about the Chronic Pain Clinic until I went to a walk in clinic one day and it was that Dr. who told me about it!!!

I only just found out about these surgical procedures last night while I was up in the wee hours of the morning nursing my pain and started googling. Guess I was afraid of the thought of any kind of surgery but now having found this site I just might be changing my mind, we'll see.

I hope your recovery continues to be good and that you can be pain free for a very long time!!

Cheryl,

Hi Cheryl,
I am in the States, so our healthcare works differently, of course. I was able to see my surgeon, who is an expert in TN, without any special wait time or referral. I urge you to do lots of research, and find the right doctor for you.
Best of luck!

Christine, all the best of wishes as you recover !! Lots of positive thoughts and vibes coming your way! Everything’s crossed too!! (( hugs )) Mimi xx

Cheryl, I’m just north of you! We’re neighbours! Just sent you a friend request…Mimi

Great news Christine..wishing you a speedy recovery and a pain free life from here on

Mimi, that's awesome. Are you in Edmonton?

Hi Christine,

We'll see, a lot of our Dr.'s moved their practices to the USA for more money! Our hospitals are usually under staffed and it's very hard to find a family Dr. as walk in clinics have kind of taken over. My Dr. is my family Dr. but he's not there all the time. Very frustrating.

Take care,

Cheryl

Thanks, Ed and Mimi! I will keep you updated.

How has your recovery been going?

So far, so good . Surgery Monday, released Wed, and saw my surgeon this morning. He is pleased with how everything looks, so I will be flying home on Saturday. As expected, I am in some pain from the surgery itself, weak and tired, but the TN pain is quiet so far.

That's awesome! Take it nice and easy.

Awesome news Christine!! Happy to hear you are doing so well!

I hope your recovery continues to go well, Christine! I'm scheduled for MVD on Dec. 5, and I'm not sure which scares me more - the surgery or the recovery. Hearing your good news definitely encourages me. I'll be eager to see more updates from you in the coming days and weeks.
