Shocks?

Is it possible to develop shocks after having type 2 pain? It hasn't happened yet at least I don't think. But this morning I was laying there and felt a strange climbing feeling in my neck and was scared it was leading to shock but the shock didn't happen. I have felt like this a few times with my teeth too like pressure builds up in a tooth and i felt like a shock was coming but it would go away. My question to the type 1 sufferers is when you get shocks in your face/head where are they?? in teeth? are they behind the eye at all? I feel I almost felt like what I think it was going to be like and really scared me

I cannot tell you if you develop shocks after type II pain. I can tell you my personal experience started with a shock in my tooth and there were trigger points. I could not touch my upper lip on the left nor the left side of my face without triggering a shock. The shocks started out lasting briefly but eventually lasting longer until it was an all day issue landing me in the emergency room. The shocks are just like electricity in your head, intolerable. I had a MVD and still experience "sparks" so at times I have that concern that it will develop into something excruciating again. But, so far, so good.

It depends on which branch your TN is in. Mine is in the 3rd branch on the left side, so mine is in my left lower jaw from the center of my lower lip all the way across my jaw, up to my ear and the top of my head. And sometimes I DO have that pressure/tight kind of feeling.......almost like an electrical hum, but nothing else happens.

Yes!
My left side has always been type 2 (my right classic type 1)

Since this past Nov. I’ve been getting more and more classic type 1 shocks…from the base of my ear along my jaw line down into my throat, or into my lower teeth.

As to your other question…on the right my shocks are quick lightening bolt electric shocks that 10 years ago only occurred under my right eye, from temple to nose. Wind was my only trigger.

When my TN came back after remission, the shocks occurred from the base of my ear through my lower teeth or along my jaw line. Triggers were eating, talking, drinking, brushing my teeth.

With my TN2 and now TN1 on the left, the only triggers I’ve found for the shocks have been talking and laughing.

I hope I haven’t confused you with my unusual bilateral TN …

I have both types, so I may not be very helpful. During the 2+ years that I didn't have shocks, I still would have feeling of pressure in my teeth. This did seem to go with the days that the tingling was worse.

Those who only have TN2 may be better able to tell you what they have felt. It would be good to hear if others have had that feeling and it didn't turn to shocks.

I hope that someone is able to offer you peace of mind.
