Radiofrequency question

I had radiofrequency rhizotomy yesterday for my left lower branch tn.
Tofay, I am still nauseous. I still have TN pain in the area by my ear where it was most severe prior to surgery. Now I have new trigger spots: upper cheek, tip of tongue. Has anyone had this happen? Is there any chance that this will go away in a few days or is that wishful thinking?

Hi Emma,

I had my second radiofrequency for my left lower branch in March. Afterwards I had pain in different spots than I originally had and I thought something had gone wrong. But everything gradually subsided and I've been completely pain free for the past 8 months. So glad I had it done. I think it will gradually subside for you too. Hope this helps. Laureen

I am so glad that you replied. I have been crying since the surgery because I lost hope. At least I have hope now!

I had a temporary form of RF done last month and it is still helping! At first, I thought it didn't work because I was still having pain. However, I was told that the heat they use stays in the nerve for awhile and continues to damage it. After about one week, my pain had gone down tremendously! Oh, and my pain had appeared in different locations as well. Hang in there!

I wanted to provide an update on my radiofrequency surgery... the pain eventually subsided and I had about 3 months of no pain. I am so grateful for every day that I've had without pain! My pain prior to surgery was so frequent that I could barely speak a sentence. The pins and needles also subsided. Just in the last 2 weeks, i started getting individual shocks back....maybe 2 shocks per day total. That's still way better than what I had before surgery! If anyone wants more details on my radiofrequency experience, just let me know!
