Pain

in a lot of pain tonight. This cold weather here is doing no good for me. Been over a 10/10 all night. Been laying on a heating pad since I got home from work.
I have my MVD scheduled for 12/17 and an emergency direct admit order on file, so if it gets and stays this bad I can have it done sooner. My neurosurgeon is amazing. He truly cares. Checks in on me via phone at least once a week. Helped me through a lot. Just have some loose ends, mainly at scoll that need tied up, before I have surgery. At least ideally.

Ughhhh I hate TN.

Sorry to hear you are having a rough time, but so glad you have such a caring surgeon and are scheduled for a MVD. I waited 8 1/2 years to have mine (just 5 weeks ago) and am so glad I did it. Being pain free and clear headed is amazing! Praise the Lord. Hang in there and best of luck to you!

Thank you for the wonderful insight. I know I will never be pain free, I have both types 1 and 2, but any reduction in pain is better than nothing.

I feel for you. We hit a cold snap here, and I was I’ll - prepared. I, like you, have a surgery scheduled (spinal impant), and my sweet husband keeps telling me that it’s just a couple of days away, but it doesn’t make it easier. I whimped out yesterday and went to the ER just for a few hours of pain relief. You’re lucky to have the emergency admit order. My advice, wrap stuff up and go. No need to martyr any longer.

I was just insinuated by my doctor that I am just faking it to get opiates. I can only wish this on him for one day and he would change his mind fast. He told me that gov is making it so hard on the doc's that to leave me on it he looses money. I look at what I pay him for office visits and wonder how that can be.

That's awful! No doctor should ever treat a patient that way!

As of lately, I have been doing better. Pain is down fairly low, and when it does spike, I can control it. Only have a few weeks to get through until my MVD. Think I can do it!

Glad you are doing better. Weather does me in too..so glad you were able to find a good neurosureon. I have a great one to. they are hard to find. I just spent 10 days in hospital, am struggling to find a pain DR. to perscribe my opiods. It is such a shame the way the law is, it makes it so hard on thoes of us that need pain meds to have a decent life.I pray that your surgery goes well. I hope you are completely pain free it is possible. we will keep you in our prayers

sofft hugs Dawn

Thanks! We had a major pressure drop, so the pain has been going up today. No fun, but not as bad as it could be. From my experience, pain doctors are very hard to find. At least good ones.

Good Luck!
