Pain unresponsive to any meds...So frustrated!

Hello,

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows of any other types of pain relief treatments...?

Background:

I have had a migraine/TN pain for two weeks and during the first week I burnt out my stomach by taking too many NSAIDs, so now the only med options I have are pain meds and baclofen. Today I finally went to the ER and a shot of Dilaudad which didn't even budge the TN pain (thought the migraine is now gone!), so I am desperate for anything that will help!!! I feel like NSAIDs will help my inflammation but doc said no to my current bout of gastritis... I am SO MISERABLE! I go to my neuro Monday to discuss what they found on my recent MRA- there is some sort of lesion they are investigating. My TN pain is running along the V1 and deep into my ophthalmic cavaity. Only a bit of my V3 is disturbed. I am also loosing sensation along my cheek but no actual pain there. Oh, and my pain worsens when I go from lying to sitting/standing with pain radiating down my neck artery...

I'll take ANY suggestions.... Thank you!!

Your pain may not be due to inflammation, rendering NSAIDS ineffective as a remedy. Trigeminal neuropathic pain is treated with anti-seizure drugs (Tegretol, Trileptal, Neurontin) or tri-cyclic antidepressants (Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, others). See our Face Pain Info tab in the menu above.
