Pain is here again

I had my MVD operation on June 17 on the left side and I start to feel uneasy pain on my face again as of August 12 and I am not feeling happy. I still need to operate the right side in December...I have been dealing with the pain on both sides since 2011, I hated telling my family again that I was in pain becasue TN has caused my life alot of heartaches ...What do I do now?

I am so sorry to hear that. I was in the same boat a couple of years ago. Mine came back a week after the surgery. I know how heart wrenching it is. I am sorry I do not have any advice due to not having any luck at all with my experience with TN but I saw your post and my heart goes out to you and your family!! Try to stay positive and I am really sorry for you!!

I am so sorry to hear this. It can be very discouraging. Keep your chin up! I had my first MVD on the right side in 2011. Within the past 3 months I have started having TN symptoms on the left side. I can totally understand what you must be feeling. Hugs to you!

I am so sorry. I think honesty is the best policy and your family would want to know. You will need the support and they will want to give it. All the best.

Laura, My thoughts. I know you want to protect your family from the disappointment but you need their strength and support. Think about exactly how you want your family to support you through this time. Let them know exactly how they can help you. I find it difficult to deal with things when I am in pain so maybe write it out. Your family loves you and you love them and that is why you are trying to protect them. Just let them know what you need. Be specific so they can help. Our thoughts are with you! Do your best to release as much fear as possible through mediation or music. Fear keeps us from healing. Maybe combine with journaling. With love, Tina

My heart goes out to you as well. I have read that it can take up to a year for the nerve to heal. So yes, please tell your family and make sure you take as much quiet time as you need to keep it settled. I also recommend meditation. Fear is a great trigger of TN, it unleashes a huge neuro chemical response that the trigeminal nerve responds to. So please be easy on yourself, try not to anticipate too much about what is coming for your next surgery. Place your concentration of healing from the one you just had.
