I am not sure what to make of the mild but distracting sensation that I have around and in my right eye. I am vaguely aware that problems with eye sight and headaches are related to type one TN; yet, this is not apart of my symptom presentation. The ophthalmologist does not see anything significant upon a recent evaluation and past mri's are negative. It feels as if there is tension and a mild ache/numbness that tracks from the sinus area, to under the eye, to the side of the eye, and then to under the ear and around to the back of the neck. Also, most distracting is that I feel as if I have something in my eye...which apparently is not the case. Recently, I struck the top of my head, fairly hard, on the trunk lid of our five door wagon auto. The ocular issues were present before then but feel a little more aggravated after this incident. Then again, perhaps, the incident only increased my focus on these ocular related sensations?
I feel a little at a loss as to what to do about it. I don't want to unnecessarily expose myself to a third CT scan.
I live in the Ohio valley where eye allergies are increasingly common. This could be what I'm experiencing as at what time suggested by the the ophthalmologist. Plus, I might have some dryness in the eye which comes with age and a heated home. And, to some extent, I am under the impression that odd surface cranial sensations comes with the territory of baseline symptoms for type 2 TN..namely, on the same side as the location of the acute center of pain.
The last eye examination was within the past month. Before I ask for another review, I thought that I would ask other members if they can help to clarify my experience with any of their own.
