Numbness

Hello every one,
I really want to thank this place because the only people can understand what I am going throug…

I hope you doing well, for me 4 months now never pain free but it is very low level at this month I can handle !

I want to ask if jaw or neck problems can cause TN pain ?
Have any one feel numbness, loss of sensation because I do on left side specially around eyes, left part of lip, cheeck & top of my head (TN on right)

Hi dodo. Numbness has always been a major factor of my TN. The inside of my cheek, chin, lip and toungue, all on the right side. Sometimes, justbto change things up, I have it on the roof of my mouth. My Neurologist was intrigued enough about it to send me for an MRI but I don't see him till this coming Tuesday so it will be interesting to see if anything comes up.

When I posted something about numbness some time back lots of people mentioned that they had it too.

Thank you catwoman…
I have also part on tounge & roof of my mouth but the strange thing that it is on other side which is pain free !!!

This is one weird and wonderful condition. With a little less of the wonderful.

Hi dodo, since I had MVD on left side in Nov 2013, I suffer with painful numbness on the back of my head. It’s difficult to wash or brush my hair and when my head gets cold it feels like a very heavy boulder on my head. I can’t sleep on the left side as it’s too painful but worst of all is that on top of this I still suffer with a high level of pain. I also have bilateral TN, have had 2 MVD’s, and continue to suffer with pain on both sides! The numbness does go down into my neck and changes in the weather both cause more pain around the numbness which then triggers the TNT pain. My GP has recently put me on slow releasing tramadol alongside my other meds to try and relieve some of the pain! : )

Hi dodo,
I have the same numbness and loss of sensation nearly at the same area you described. I have it from 20 years, and yes, the pain is lasting but woth varying levels. It increases with anxiety and stress

Numbness feeling along with mouth feeling changes can often be caused by the medication (side-effects).

Thank you all so much… Actually I didn’t do MVD before & I am not under medication for the mean time & this loss of sensation not in pain side !!! I am really worried :’(

Be big and brave and go see your GP for starters. Go on, you can do it!!! : )
