Tomorrow I 'm set to have a more precise MRI at 11:00 AM and then meet with the Doc at 1:00. Not really nervous (at least now), but was wondering if anyone had some words of advise for me before I see the Doctor.
Big step for me.
Thanks

No big deal Bob, the MRI will rule out other serious issues for you. MRI’s I have learned for the most part are very difficult to detect much other than ruling out other issues other than TN.
I was in in a serious car accident 7 months ago, and have had 5 MRI’s to other body parts. When I keep coming back the ladies say, oh Gerry we have missed you.
Have a good nights rest, it will be all cool!

Nothing like waiting for those results! Keep posting!

Here is a link from the FACE PAIN INFO that may help. Hope it’s not too late to be of help.
Hi all and thanks for the concernand replies,
I meant to update my info on my visit, but time seems to slip by too fast. Anyhow...the MRI was interesting in that it showed a rather large blood vessel laying right on top of the nerve. The neurosurgeon was quite pleased that it was such an obvious problem to fix. Of course...he also said he won't know for sure just what the whole deal is until he gets in there.
I am waiting for a phone call for my surgery appt., which will be in about 5-6 weeks.
Right now, 1400mgs aday of Tegratol seem to be doing the job of controling the pain, but the pain seems to be getting an edge on the medication. I have already increased the med by a quarter of a tablet each time with my regular amount. Now I might have to do it again. I seem quite tolerable of Tegratol so far...but i'm right at the limit of being comfortable with driving. Work...no big deal as I sit at a desk and seem to be able to think straight...for now.
Let's get the surgery on!!!!!
Congrats ! Keep us posted on your experience ! All the best to you!

bob - i'm happy for you. it's good news i think.
can you please tell what is " more precise MRI " means ? do you know how mant Telsa is the MRI machine ?
i also have an MRI here next month and want to do the best MRI possible if since all the effort.
thanks !
Mmmmmm! good question. I was originally scheduled for a 6:00 AM MRI but they changed it to an 11:00 AM due to the Doc wanting me to be on a specific machine. I don't know why except that the guy running it said it was the latest and greatest they have and reads much better. Could be the reason.
