I haven’t been here for awhile, but my pain is flaring and I’m also having severe nausea. Having a little trouble maneuvering the site right at the moment. I think I saw for a second someone else asked this same question??? I have TN 2. I use a compounded cream and rub it on my face several times a day. I also take Desipramine (which is like Elavil) by mouth. I’m take Emetrol liquid for nausea and it is barely working. Does anyone have any ideas??? Thank you.
The best med I have found for nausea is Promethazine. You can get it in tablets or suppositories (if you are vomiting). Most people take Zofran, but this drug does nothing for me. The Promethazine will make you drowsy at first, but you body eventually gets used to it and the drowsiness stops. You can take 1-2 pills every 6 hours. If I am really feeling yucky, I use both Promethazine and Zofran.
I also have TN 2 on my forehead and bridge of the nose. I take Amitriptyline, which is very similar to Desipramine. I have even used a compounded cream like you are using. It didn't help a bit, but the Amitriptyline has really helped. It doesn't knock my pain, but it helps me sleep through the night most of the time. I used to wake up several times a night in pain.
I have experienced nausea a lot since being cursed with TN. Most of the time it has been because of a drug, or because I was in severe pain. I was nauseous for three months when I stated Cymbalta. I discontinued it because the nausea wouldn't go away. When I withdraw from a drug I always get nausea. It took me 1 month to get off of Gabapentin. The entire time I had some degree of nausea. I am currently getting off of Lyrica. So far my nausea has been manageable.

If the 2 stated above do not work. I have also tried benedryl, ginger pills or soda, and pressure points in your wrist. And Cannabis. Good luck. Hope you feel better soon!
