Nausea Medication Advice

I need to find something to help my nausea and vomiting. Since my MVD my TN pain has improved but for some reason I vomit non-stop when I do get it. I have tried Tygan, Phenergan and Bentyl (not a nausea med). I’m allergic to Reglan, Compazine and Zofran. Cannabis isn’t legal here for nausea, so it’s not an option.

Any other ideas? My drs can’t think of any but there has to be something else I can try.

I would ask your pharmacist -- the ARE the guru with meds --- maybe they know of a med - whos side effect it anti-nausea!

This may sound crazy but have you tried just plain old coke a cola syrup over crushed ice? Just sipping on it slowly a couple tbs. or so.Hope it gets better soon, wishing you well, dawn

I’m up vomiting at 3am so I figured I’d check in on the discussion.

My pharmacist has not been helpful. She’s only mentioned the ones I have mentioned above. I have tried cola syrup. I’ve also tried ginger and papaya which are suppose to help. A doctor just suggested to my neurologist today that I try Thorazine. It’s an antipsychotic medication that can in some cases be used for nausea and vomiting. Hopefully they can call in the prescription tomorrow morning since they couldn’t today.

Has anyone taken Thorazine for nausea and vomiting?

Hi,

I have really bad nauseas, so I need anti-nauseas medication 24/7. My neurologist prescribed an anti-nausea patch called Scopolamine which is a patch you put behind your ear and change every 72 hours. I worked well except for it causes pretty bad dry mouth. I could no longer stand the dry mouth, so after changing neurologist they finally agreed to try something new. The only other anti-nauseas prescription patch is, Sancuso. It was put on the market a few years ago for nausea from chemo-therapy, but my doctor found that it could be used for other conditions. You put the patch on your arm once week. I have been using Sancuso for a little over a year and they really work. I recommend them if your doctor will prescribe them, but they are extremely expensive. Without insurance four patches cost about $2,000, luckily my insurance covers them, so insurance would probably covers them.

I hope you are able to find something to help with the nauseas, as I know how bad it can be.
