I was first diagnosed with TM in the spring on my left side. It went away after 2 weeks. Today I woke up with pain on my right side and horrible nausea. After suffering for 3 hours I took a carbamazepine and slept. The pain is much better, the nausea is a little better. I heard that Migraines can cause nausea. Does anyone know if Migraines and TN sometimes come at the same time? Or can TB causeNausea and headache at the same time? Just curious.
Wow-thanks. I am hoping this doesn't happen again. It never happened before. It's the nausea combined with the pain that makes it unbearable. Thank you for that information.
Sorry dg. I suffer from TN and migraines. I've had chronic daily migraines for over 10 years. (sucks) In my experience, I only get nausea sometimes with my migraines. I've never had nausea with my TN pain.
Tegretol has made a slight difference with my TN but hasn't helped my migraines. The WORST is getting a migraine with my TN pain. I was told that migraines don't cause TN and that TN does not cause migraines. (But I've also been told a lot of things that end up not being true. lol)
I will tell you this: extreme pain can cause nausea. I wonder if that was what happened to you?
I really hope it was a one-time-thing and that you're not getting migraines too. If the nausea keeps becoming an issue, Phenergan is my drug of choice to get rid of it. I've tried other things like ginger and papaya, but they don't help me. Phenergan just stops the nausea on its track.
